Welcome autumn weather ahead for the east

After a run of terrible weather for eastern Queensland and New South Wales, including two separate East Coast Lows and a myriad of severe thunderstorms, conditions look much better over the coming weeks.
Today, a trough and low that barraged southeast Queensland and the north coast of New South Wales will continue to bring heavy rain and strong winds to the north and central coasts.
From Sunday and into Monday, the low pressure trough will shift east, further offshore and into the Tasman Sea. In its wake, a warm tongue of air should give most of Queensland and New South wales a warm, mostly clear day on Tuesday. Taree, Kempsey and Coffs Harbour are all looking to linger in the mid-to-high 20s with a clear day, whilst the Sydney basin should bask in sunny skies with a top of around 25 degrees.
In the south of New South Wales, a front will arrive on this morning bringing a few showers and some gusty winds to areas around Wagga Wagga, Bega and Deniliquin. The cooling will affect the rest of the state later on Tuesday. Temperature and humidity will drop for awhile after this resulting in noticeably brisk and cool mornings.
From Wednesday, clear skies and crisp autumn mornings are the dominant forecast for New South Wales and most of southern Queensland for about another week, as a large, banding high pressure system encompasses most of the interior of the country. This good weather should hopefully aid in the clean-up of areas most affected by the recent inclement weather.
