A hop, skip and jump for the Easter bunny to a chilly and wet Tassie

A series of cold fronts and a low pressure system will sweep over Tasmania during the next week, bringing showers on most days and keeping temperatures to those more likely to be experienced in winter.
Overnight temperatures have dropped below freezing in parts of the Central, East Coast, Central North and Midlands districts marking a cool welcome for the Easter bunny. Widespread light showers have also contributed to the cool welcome, with 1-10mm falling across the west and south.
Tonight is expected to be slightly cooler than last night across the majority of TAS as a cold front passes over the state. In the wake of this front a low pressure system will then move in, bringing widespread showers.
Over the next few days western areas will experience the heaviest of these showers, with some areas expected to receive between 20-30mm in a day and a weekly total of more than 50mm in parts.
Gusty winds are also expected about southern and western areas, particularly about the exposed coasts and higher peaks, with some areas forecast to reach over 80km/h at times.
