A second soaking for southern NSW

A slow-moving low pressure trough left some healthy falls across southern New South Wales yesterday.

The heaviest of the falls were in the Snowy Mountains, with Thredbo Top Station picking up 31mm in the 24 hours to 9am Thursday.

Other notable totals were 18mm at Khancoban in the Southwest Slopes, 13mm at Wagga and Temora, and 12mm at Euabalong. For most of these places, this rain was similar to the amount recorded in the 24 hours to Tuesday.

The low pressure trough drifted north today; bringing cloud, a few showers and the odd rumble.

Over the next few days most of the rain will be confined to the far northeast of the state, as a high pressure system builds elsewhere. There are some early indications of heavier falls developing early-to-mid next week.
