Bucketing down over New Zealand

Across the ditch, heavy rain has settled in over the New Zealand's North Island where it looks to remain until Wednesday.
This rain is due to the same low pressure system off the NSW coast, which has brought brisk winds, large and hazardous surf and showers over the past couple of days.
Bands of rain are currently moving over the North Island, with a Heavy Rain Warning for Auckland, Coromandel Peninsula, Bay of Plenty about and west of Te Puke, and the Kaimai Range for Sunday. At times, showers and storms could bring as much as 25mm per hour leading to rapid river rises, surface flooding, hazardous driving conditions and slips.
Parts of Northland saw flooding rain on Saturday, with Kerikeri recording 93mm of rain in a single day. The band of rain has now shifted south, and the warning for Northland has now been lifted.
On Monday, the rain band continues to move further south, with Hawkes Bay also likely to see heavy rain by Monday morning. In addition, yet another rain band is expected to affect Northland as the associated low pressure system moves across the North Island.
By the time this low pressure system and all of its troughs move east and away from New Zealand, weekly rain totals could exceed 100mm for parts of northern and eastern parts of the North Island, but also places like Kaikoura in the South Island will have picked up decent totals by this time next week, potentially exceeding the average June rainfall in a few days.
