Chilly mornings to come for southeast QLD

Graeme Brittain, Saturday June 9, 2018 - 14:02 AEST

High pressure will bring some cold mornings for southeast districts of Queensland next week.

A weak offshore wind circulation, combined with light winds and long winter nights are the perfect recipe for temperatures to plummet.

Derby, Warwick and even western suburbs of Brisbane will see the mercury drop to the low single figures early next week.

Patches of early-morning frost and fog are likely to develop in sheltered valleys in the region.

The daylight hours will continue to shorten over the next couple of weeks, with only around 11 hours of potential sunlight.
