Parts of South Australia experienced their lowest May temperature in more than a decade on Wednesday morning.
A high pressure system centred over the Bight caused clear skies and light winds across most of the state last night, which allowed the mercury to plummet.
Noarlunga registered its lowest May temperature in 12 years, dipping to 5.9 degrees shortly after 5:30am.
Parafield (2.1C) and Roseworthy (1.6C) had their coldest May morning in eight and six years, respectively.
Adelaide dipped to 4.8 degrees at West Terrace, which is six degrees below average for May and the site's coldest morning since last August.
Thursday morning will be another cold start in Adelaide and surrounding areas, although minimum temperatures will climb a bit from Friday as wind and cloud cover increase over the state's south.
