East coast showers easing

The New South Wales and Queensland coasts have been drenched in the past week by consistent showers, but the sun is taking hold.
From Sydney to Lismore many coastal areas have already eclipsed their August average rainfall. The Mid North Coast particularly was drenched by the east coast low earlier in the week.
Frequent showers have now become infrequent, with just a few showers hugging the coastal fringe of NSW on Saturday, whilst they are moving a little further inland on QLD's North Tropical Coast.
On Sunday showers will be a little bit more widespread in NSW with the help of a weak upper trough, although people would be unlucky to get wet more than twice in the day.
From Monday the high pressure system that is currently over the mainland will shift over the coast, clearing the showers and bringing sunny skies in NSW.
However, in QLD showers will continue, although they will be quite isolated and mainly confined to the tropics, where they will stay for much of the week.
