Easter bunny bringing sunshine to most Australian capitals

It is Wednesday and the holiday season in nearly upon us. Not only
will we get to indulge on a four-day long weekend.

In Queensland, the Sunshine State capital will stay true to its
state's motto. Plenty of sun and temperatures in the high-20s will
allow local residents to enjoy the great outdoors, although cooler
mornings will make it hard to leave bed too early.

After a soggy week, skies will finally clear on Thursday over the
Harbour City with the warmest day (Good Friday) reaching the mid-20s.
A front will bring some light showers to some suburbs early on
Saturday but these should clear early in the morning. Temperatures,
however, will be a tad cooler, only reaching the low-20s in the wake
of the front.

Further south, Victoria's capital will see strengthening winds early
on Friday ahead of a cold front. This front will bring cloud and
showers during the afternoon and evening. The cold airmass in the wake
of the front will bring a relatively chilly day with the temperature
only reaching the high teens in between showers. Passing showers will
persist throughout the whole long weekend with mostly cloudy skies and
temperatures struggling to reach the high teens each day.

Similarly, across the strait, Hobart will see showers developing on
Friday as a front crosses the state. Showers will persist on and off
during Saturday and Sunday with the temperature only reaching the mid-
teens. Luckily, it will dry up by Easter Monday to gather any
remaining eggs from the previous day's hunt.

Our nations capital will be mostly sunny throughout the Easter long
weekend but temperatures will only reach the mid teens each day. A
lingering cold airmass and clear skies are likely to chill the city to
near freezing on Sunday and Monday mornings. These mornings are likely
to be Canberra's coldest since November.

Finally, Adelaide will see showers early on Friday and the odd brief
shower on Monday. Otherwise it is looking generally dry with long
sunny spells with the temperature getting to the high teens/low 20s.

Perth is looking like the warmest of the southern capitals under
mostly clear skies, reaching the mid-to-high 20s each day, nudging 30
degrees on Good Friday.

The trough has brought some interesting weather to NSW in the past 36 hours or so, particularly along the coastal fringe, giving those New South Welshmen a “Stark” Game of Thrones reminder: winter is coming.
