First Total Fire Ban for Sydney

Another hot day is making its mark across eastern NSW as northwesterly winds ahead of a trough drag a hot airmass from Australia's interior towards the coast.
Hot temperatures, a low relative humidity and gusty winds are pushing fire danger ratings above severe levels in Greater Sydney, Greater Hunter, Northern Slopes and the North Western. All of which are currently under a total fire ban.
In Sydney, overnight temperatures only dipped to 23.5 degrees at Observatory Hill, making it the hottest November night in Sydney in four years.
During the day, gusty west-northwesterly winds will bring temperatures to the high 30's across the Sydney Basin. Luckily, a cool change will be sweeping through the city just in time for the commute back home. The change will be gusty along the coast which will feel the cooling effect about an hour earlier than the Western Suburbs.
So, for those heading West, you will have to wait just a little longer for that cooling relief.
