Heaviest November falls in 5 years for Yorke Peninsula

Parts of South Australia receive the best November rain in 5 years.

Looking at the rain gauge this morning, many would be forgiven for thinking it was a fairly mundane day of rain across South Australia. The heaviest falls state wide only totalled only 11 millimetres in the 24 hour period to 9am today at Lower Light and Mt McKenzie

However, these showers which would usually be considered to be insignificant actually delivered the most significant November falls for parts of the Yorke Peninsula since 2009.

Maitland picked up 9mm, the heaviest November total in five years, and the heaviest fall for any month since the start of September. Roseworthy received just 6mm however this is still marked as the best November rain since 2012.

A few showers and thunderstorms are still lingering over parts of Adelaide and the Yorke Peninsula a couple of millimetres collecting in the gauge as consolidation. These showers and thunderstorms will gradually move to the east throughout the day as a trough continues on its track. The next best chance of showers come on Monday, although remaining light and isolated.
