For those that like the heat, it's been a good couple of days in Kalgoorlie.
Temperatures yesterday peaked at 36 degrees, making it the hottest day since the beginning of April. With another day today peaking over 35 degrees it's been the warmest pair of days this season.
Whilst days will cool slightly into the middle of next week as a trough shifts slightly to the east, temperatures will remain well above average until about Thursday.
A cold front will then make its way across southwest WA bringing with it a substantially cooler airmass, causing the mercury to cool around 10 degrees on Friday from Thursday's maximum.
Gusty winds and widespread showers will accompany this system, although the far southwest will get the brunt of this, with Kalgoorlie remaining mostly dry.
Temperatures should remain cool for a few days after this with warmer conditions returning in around a week and a half's time.
