Major Flooding spreading across QLD and NSW

Rob Sharpe, Thursday March 30, 2017 - 18:26 AEDT

Countless locations are seeing Major Flooding from Ex-Tropical Cyclone Debbie, including Lismore, Murwillumbah and Chinderah.

Major flooding is now occurring along the Wilsons, Tweed, Kolan, Logan, Albert, Mackenzie and Isaac Rivers and along Baffle Creek.

In Lismore river heights are expected to be higher than in the 2001 and 2005 floods tonight, with further river rises possible depending on the rain currently sweeping across the region.

Other rivers are also at near record levels.

It should also be noted that the Upper Brisbane River now has a moderate flood warning, with potential for flooding downstream.

Please check the flood warnings for your local rivers and creeks at http://www.weatherzone.com.au/warnings.jsp

Remember that if it's flooded, forget it.

Winter is Coming: Chilly day for Sydney, rain pelts eastern seaboard

17:22 AEST Just as we forecast yesterday, a coastal trough has deepened along the NSW and southeast Qld coasts as a low in the Coral Sea continues to inch closer to Qld.  The trough has brought some interesting weather to NSW in the past 36 hours or so, particularly along the coastal fringe, giving those New South Welshmen a “Stark” Game of Thrones reminder: winter is coming.
