Meteorological 'Bomb Scare' for Tassie

After a fairly benign weekend over Tasmania, we are going to see conditions rapidly deteriorate as the week unfolds, as a series of cold fronts cross the region.
Over the next 24 hours, the dial on the barometer is going to be getting a good workout, as pressure tumbles by about 20 hPa; this almost constitutes as a meteorological bomb, whereby pressure falls more than 24 hPa in 24 hours.
Wednesday and Thursday look like being the wettest days, where we will easily see rainfall totals exceeding 50 mm across the west over this period. A further drenching to northern parts on Saturday, with the passage of another front. Strong winds will also be a feature for most of the week.
There are no strong signals of any lengthy settled periods in the long range outlook, with a stack of low pressure systems setting course for Tasmania.
