NSW set to soak

Those in NSW should enjoy the sun while it lasts with parts of the state set to score over 50mm of rain in the coming days.
Two weather systems will combine to bring the wet and stormy weather. A high over the Tasman Sea will direct a warm and very moist airmass over the eastern seaboard. This moisture will feed into a slow-moving trough which is located over western parts of NSW.
On Saturday showers and storms will be isolated and generally confined to the northern inland and ranges. On Sunday the trough will broaden and moisture will increase leading to more widespread showers and storms. Almost all districts will get at least some rain but those about central parts are likely to see the heaviest falls. Places around Albury and Cobar can expect falls of up to 25mm while widespread falls of 5-10mm are likely much of the state. Isolated falls of over 50mm cannot be ruled out either.
Monday is likely to see the peak of the rainfall as the trough deepens further while still being feed moisture. Once again those about central parts will have the heaviest falls including eastern parts of the Upper Western, Central West Slopes and Plains, Riverina and South West Slopes. Falls are likely to top 50mm in these areas with widespread falls likely to exceed 10mm.
Showers and storms will ease and contract east on Tuesday. There are some indications of another bout of wet weather for much of the state starting in the west on Wednesday.
