Series of fronts for Perth

After a relatively dry start to August the western capital is set to make up on lost time.
We are already halfway through August and Perth has picked up less than one third of its average monthly rainfall. This is set to change in the next few days as a pair of cold fronts bump the monthly total up closer to average.
The first cold front will make its way across south western parts of Western Australia this morning. This first front is only expected to bring light falls, up to five millimetres. Perth is only expected to pick up a few millimetres.
Tuesday will be mostly clear before a strong front brings heavy rain on Wednesday. Falls are expected to begin in the morning and continue into the evening. The heaviest falls are expected to occur between Mandurah and Perth, where 25-35mm are a chance.
Thunderstorms are also a chance on Wednesday, potentially becoming extreme with damaging wind gusts. Winds are expected to whip up to 80-90km/h independent of these storms so be sure to tidy up your yard before the front arrives.
Showers will dry up on Thursday, although the cold front will leave a noticeably cooler airmass in its wake, only expected to reach 15 degrees. A high will build over the city towards the end of the week before another front moves through to kick the weekend off on Saturday morning.
