Potentially severe thunderstorms are developing in parts of NSW and Queensland, with warnings in place for parts of both states.
A low pressure trough interacting with moisture-laden air is causing storms to develop over eastern Australia today.
At 1:30pm AEDT, thunderstorms were moving over the northern coast and ranges in NSW and the central and southern inland of Queensland, in a broad area between about Taree and Blackall. At this time, severe thunderstorm warnings were in place for damaging winds in both states, with large hail also a risk from the storms in Queensland.
