Showers and storms bring welcome November rain to southeast QLD

Bob Neil, Wednesday November 19, 2014 - 13:12 AEDT

Showers and storms developing in Southeast Queensland yesterday brought welcome rain and there's more to come.

Bundaberg saw 33.8mm, 40 percent of their monthly average rainfall, from evening storms on Tuesday, with as much as 15mm falling in a 10 minute period at 7pm.

A little further south in Childers, 67mm was collected in the gauges making it the wettest November day in six years.

A few more days of showers and storms will help some places across the Wide Bay and Burnett district reach their November average rainfall a week early.

Showers could produce another 10-20 mm on both Wednesday and Thursday with isolated falls of up to 30mm possible.

A drier period is likely from Friday, but a trough developing by the middle of next week may bring back the showers.
