It was a night for full length pyjamas and flannelette sheets in South Australia last night with some locations seeing their coldest minimum in almost two years.
Lingering cold air, light winds and clear skies following a cold front allowed the temperature to drop right across the state, well below zero in some parts. Port Augusta managed to fall to -2 degrees making it the coldest night since August 2014.
It was a similar story for Yunta (-5 degrees), Kingcote (-1 degrees), Marree (zero degrees) and Oodnadatta (zero degrees) which all saw their coldest night in almost two years. This also makes it the coldest July night since 2012 for most of these places. As for the state's capital, it was the coldest night in almost a year at two degrees.
Temperatures are set to gradually rise in the coming nights, remaining cool but bearable tomorrow with a minimum of six degrees for Adelaide, before moving into double digits by Tuesday.
