Wet runways at Brisbane Airport after Buckets of Rain

Drenching thunderstorms on Saturday morning led to a very wet start to operations at Brisbane Airport, but very little rainfall for the city itself.
80mm fell in an hour to 6am at Ransome with a 135mm in total. 80mm also fell in the hour to 7:50am at Mt Cotton West with a total of 129mm in total.
Brisbane Airport received 33.8mm in from 6:30am till 6:53am, and 97mm in total to 9am today. Surprisingly, Brisbane City, only 15km away, did not record any rainfall.
Nearly 2000 lightning strikes were recorded in a 30km radius from Brisbane Airport, almost all occurring in Moreton Bay.
Storms were likely triggered due to significant wind shear between elevated winds coming off the ranges and onshore circulation at surface. Storms formed on the coast where moisture was readily available.
Storms are a moderate risk for the remainder of today in Brisbane, higher in the west, with more severe storms a high chance west of the ranges.
