Wet week in the southwest

Farmers in the nation's southwest need more rain, and this week is already bringing a good dose.
A cold front and trough is crossing western and southern portions of Western Australia today. The heaviest falls were in the South West district, where Bunbury recorded 36mm, its heaviest August rain in five years. The same statistic was also applied much further north in Carnarvon, where an unseasonable 12mm dropped into the gauge.
This system is weakening as it heads inland, with only patchy showers tomorrow.
Fronts will then arrive on Saturday and then late on Sunday into Monday, bringing plenty of showers to southwestern districts.
By the time we reach Wednesday next week more than 10mm will have covered almost all of the South West, Lower West, Great Southern and South Coastal, with some towns and farms a chance to see as much as 100mm, including last night's good rain.
Sadly rain won't make it much further inland, with totals above 10mm becoming few and far between for the rest of the state's districts.
