Wild wind easing for SA

Wind gusts have exceeded 100km/h in many South Australian districts, with most areas experiencing strongest winds since last year.
Mt Crawford gusted to 135km/h this morning as showers moved over the Mt Lofty Ranges with the front. This was the strongest in ten years.
In the Adelaide area wind gusts generally peaked in the 70-90km/h range. Elsewhere in the state, stronger winds were recorded about the West Coast with Cummins recording 93km/h, its strongest in more than 18 months.
This afternoon and evening winds will gradually ease, with the risk of 90km/h damaging wind gusts likely to dissipate by the evening.
Through the week a few more fronts will arrive, maintaining cool and gusty conditions, but not as windy as today. However, these winds will still make conditions challenging for controlling the fire at Wingfield Recycling Plant.
