Windy conditions to follow the warmth in QLD

Early spring warmth will come to an end as the Queensland coast is in for a breezy few days.
After a run of sunny skies and warmer-than-average days, breezy winds will build along the QLD coast as a firm ridge of high pressure becomes established. These strong southeasterly winds will cause an increase in cloud as well as patchy showers along the coastal fringe. Under the high pressure ridge, conditions will be stable, therefore thunderstorms are unlikely.
Coinciding with the winds, temperatures along the coast will also return to near-average as the wind blows over water which is around 22-24 degrees, bringing a departure from the high-twenties and early thirties warmth over the last few days.
Temperatures will remain near-average until the start of next week, only beginning to heat up along the coast as the northwesterlies blow in off the land from Monday as a low pressure trough approaches.
