Minor Flood Warning For The Narran River

MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT ANGLEDOOL DURING SATURDAY, MAY PEAK EARLY NEXT WEEK
Floodwaters from the Culgoa and Balonne Rivers in Queensland are moving into New South Wales. Minor flooding is occurring along the Narran River at Angledool during Saturday and may peak early next week.
No significant rainfall has been observed since last Thursday and no significant rainfall is forecast for the next few days.

Narran River:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Narran River.
The Narran River at New Angledool No 2 is currently at 3.31 metres and steady, just above the minor flood level.
The Narran River at New Angledool No 2 is expected to remain above the minor flood level (3.30 m) well into next week. The river level may peak near 3.40 metres early next week, with minor flooding.

Flood Safety Advice:
In life threatening emergencies, call 000 (triple zero) immediately. If you require rescue, assistance to evacuate or other emergency help, ring NSW SES on 132 500.
* Avoid drowning. Stay out of rising water, seek refuge in the highest available place.
* Prevent damage to your vehicle. Move it under cover, away from areas likely to flood.
* Avoid being swept away. Stay out of fast-flowing creeks and storm drains.
* Never drive, ride or walk through flood water. Flood water can be deceptive and dangerous.}

17:22 AEST Just as we forecast yesterday, a coastal trough has deepened along the NSW and southeast Qld coasts as a low in the Coral Sea continues to inch closer to Qld.  The trough has brought some interesting weather to NSW in the past 36 hours or so, particularly along the coastal fringe, giving those New South Welshmen a “Stark” Game of Thrones reminder: winter is coming.
