Final Flood Warning For The Campaspe River

FLOODING HAS EASED ALONG THE CAMPASPE RIVER AT ECHUCA
No significant rainfall has been recorded across the Campaspe River catchment since 9:00 am Tuesday. The chance of showers and thunderstorms is forecast for the next few days, but rainfall totals are not expected to significantly affect river levels.
The main flood peak along the Campaspe River has now passed Echuca, where flooding has eased below the minor flood level.

Campaspe River Barnadown to Rochester:
No further flooding is expected in the Campaspe River Barnadown to Rochester.
The Campaspe River at Rochester town gauge is currently at 110.41 mAHD and falling, well below the minor flood level.
The Campaspe River at Rochester Town will remain below the minor flood level (113.00 mAHD).

Campaspe River downstream of Rochester:
No further flooding is expected in the Campaspe River downstream of Rochester. Flooding has eased at Echuca (Campaspe River gauge) after a peak just above the minor flood level Wednesday night.

Flood Safety Advice:
SES advises that all community members should:
Never walk, ride or drive through floodwater,
Never allow children to play in floodwater,
Stay away from waterways and stormwater drains during and after heavy rain,
Keep well clear of fallen power lines
Be aware that in fire affected areas, rainfall run-off into waterways may contain debris such as ash, soil, trees and rocks, and heavy rainfall increases the potential for landslides and debris across roads.}

17:22 AEST Just as we forecast yesterday, a coastal trough has deepened along the NSW and southeast Qld coasts as a low in the Coral Sea continues to inch closer to Qld.  The trough has brought some interesting weather to NSW in the past 36 hours or so, particularly along the coastal fringe, giving those New South Welshmen a “Stark” Game of Thrones reminder: winter is coming.
