Final Flood Warning For The Blackwood River

FLOODING IS EASING IN THE BLACKWOOD RIVER
Recent rainfall from multiple frontal systems caused significant river level rises and areas of flooding along the Blackwood River and its tributaries. Recent rainfall totals are not expected to trigger further flooding, however heavier rainfall expected today and into Tuesday may trigger renewed river rises and areas of flooding.
In the 24 hours to 9:00 am Monday, rainfall totals up to 25 mm were recorded in the Blackwood River catchment.
48 hours rainfall totals of 15 mm is expected with isolated 30 mm is possible Monday and Tuesday
Heavy recent rainfall and areas of flooding may adversely affect road conditions in the Blackwood River catchment.

Blackwood River upstream of Bridgetown:
No further flooding is expected in the Blackwood River upstream of Bridgetown.
The Blackwood River at Bridgetown is currently at 3.05 metres (minor flood level 3.5m) and steady.

Blackwood River downstream of Bridgetown:
No further flooding is expected in the Blackwood River downstream of Bridgetown.
The Blackwood River at Old Nannup Caravan Park peaked at 7.31 metres around 08:00 am Tuesday 03 August and is currently at 5.44 metres and falling.
The Blackwood River at Old Nannup Caravan Park is likely to remain below the minor flood level (5.50 m) during Monday.

Flood Safety Advice:
DFES advises people and communities to be aware that flooding is possible and be prepared to relocate equipment and livestock. Watch water levels. Travellers need to be aware that road conditions may be adversely affected and travel plans may need to be reconsidered. Do not drive into water of unknown depth and velocity.}
