Final Flood Warning For The Ashburton River
Issued at 10:03 AM WST on Sunday 16 February 2020
Flood Watch Number: 9
Flooding has now subsided in the Ashburton River catchment.
Heavy rainfall from Ex-Tropical Cyclone Damien fell over areas of the Ashburton river catchment. This rainfall resulted in significant water level rises and areas of flooding in the Ashburton River catchment.
While river levels have gone down, areas of local flooding and adverse road conditions may persist.
Ashburton River:
No further flooding is expected in the Ashburton River.
The Ashburton River at Nanutarra is currently at 3.69 metres and steady.
A below minor peak is expected in the Ashburton River at Nanutarra late Sunday evening.
Flood Safety Advice:
DFES advises people and communities to be aware that flooding is possible and be prepared to relocate equipment and livestock. Watch water levels. Travellers need to be aware that road conditions may be adversely affected and travel plans may need to be reconsidered. Do not drive into water of unknown depth and velocity.}

A very wet weekend for southeast Qld, northeast NSW
11:48 AEST A prolonged rainfall event is set to bring large totals to parts of NSW and Qld from Saturday, with possible heavy falls and flooding. A low-pressure system in the Coral Sea, a deepening coastal trough and persistent easterlies will bring moisture-laden air into southeast Qld and northeast NSW will bring days of rainfall to the region. While there is not a drop of rain on the radar over southeast Qld and Northeast NSW on Friday morning, the mass of cloud associated with a low in the Coral Sea will enhance rainfall over the weekend.
