The north of the NT Top End is covered in thick cloud with embedded storm activity. This is from Tropical Cyclone "Fina" to the north over the Arafura Sea. A trough in the Gulf of Carpentaria extending over Cape York Peninsula is driving some isolated storm activity in the area. An upper trough over the west coast of Western Australia is bringing extensive cloud cover and storm activity to central and southern parts of the state. A cool moist airstream passing over the southeast of the country is bringing low level cloud to Victoria, Tasmania and southeast South Australia. The interior of the country is mostly cloud free.
