Tropical Cyclone Mitchell is near Carnarvon in Western Australia, bringing a thick spiralling pattern of cloud around the system. Spotty low level cloud can be seen in northern parts of the country, with isolated thunderstorms mostly about the Northern Territory and the Kimberly region of Western Australia. Remnant mid to high level cloud persists over the central parts of Australia, adjacent to troughs spanning from the west to the eastern parts of the country. Moist onshore flow being driven by a high pressure ridge over the Eastern seaboard is producing spotty low to mid level cloud and the odd shower over much of the Queensland coast. Rain areas associated with patchy mid to upper level cloud extends from southwest Queensland through to the northern coastal districts of New South Wales.. A deck of low level cloud is blanketing southeastern Victoria.
