A cold morning with patchy frost in the east. Scattered showers in western and central districts, tending more isolated around Melbourne and over eastern districts. Thunderstorms possible about the Mallee in the afternoon. Possible small hail in showers and thunderstorms. Snow above 800 metres at first, rising to 1000 metres by the end of the day. Cold with temperatures below average. Light to moderate west to northwesterly winds at first, gradually tending south to southeasterly by the end of the day as a low pressure systems moves north over western Victoria.
