Sometimes it gets to this time of year and you think we have turned a corner. Parts of the country have enjoyed a taste of spring-like weather, with sunny days and warming temperatures. Other parts had a fair bit of rain (which can also be considered spring-like).

A weakening front doesn't bring much on Tuesday, then it dries up for Wednesday and warms up for Thursday. The next front arrives with a bang on Friday night, setting off a series of them with properly cold air. 20 to 50 cm is likely across the resorts.

A cold front peaked over Western Australia on Sunday, crosses the South Australian coast on Monday, and slides over the southeast on Tuesday.

High pressure slowly moves through delivering sunshine and light winds, and snowmaking to begin.

Rain systems for both the east and west this weekend, while the southeast misses out. The Queensland one may be significant between Maryborough and Yeppoon.
