Final Flood Warning For The Hunter River

FLOODING NO LONGER EXPECTED IN THE HUNTER RIVER
In response to heavy rainfall overnight Friday into Saturday, river level rises have been observed across the Hunter River catchment, but are expected to remain below the minor flood level. Rainfall is easing during Saturday.

Wollombi Brook:
Flooding is no longer expected in the Wollombi Brook.
The Wollombi Brook at Bulga is currently at 0.75 metres and steady, below the minor flood level.
The Wollombi Brook at Bulga is expected to remain below the minor flood level (3.00 m).

Lower Hunter:
Flooding is no longer expected in the Lower Hunter.
The Hunter River at Singleton is currently at 0.92 metres and steady, below the minor flood level.
The Hunter River at Singleton is expected to remain below the minor flood level (10.00 m).

The Hunter River at Maitland (Belmore Bridge) is currently at 0.14 metres and falling, below the minor flood level.
The Hunter River at Maitland (Belmore Bridge) is expected to remain below the minor flood level (5.90 m).

* Avoid drowning. Stay out of rising water, seek refuge in the highest available place.
* Prevent damage to your vehicle. Move it under cover, away from areas likely to flood.
* Avoid being swept away. Stay out of fast-flowing creeks and storm drains.
* Never drive, ride or walk through flood water. Flood water can be deceptive and dangerous.}
