Chilly days for Melbourne

Thomas Hough, Sunday March 22, 2020 - 12:32 AEDT

After a flashback to summer earlier this week, the next few days could not be more different for Melbourne.

A 30-degree day on Thursday, the warmest since the start of the month, brought memories of hot summer days back to many. However, since then there has been a sharp decline in temperatures, with yesterday dropping to 18 degrees in the wake of a front.

A cool airmass and persistent southerly winds will see a run of cold days continue, with maximum temperatures forecast to remain around 18 degrees (six degrees below average) for the next four days.

After such a prolonged spell of cooler weather many will be pleased to hear warmth will build again from around Thursday, recovering to near average.
