Cold front brings showers and rain to southwest WA

A cold front and trough moved over the lower southwest of Western Australia on Thursday evening into Friday, bringing some decent rainfall over the region.
Widespread falls fell across the region from about Geraldton to Esperance, with the heaviest falls concentrated in a region from Augusta to Albany.
Denmark picked up 30.5mm to 9am yesterday morning, making it their highest daily rain in January since 1989, and highest 24 hour total out of any month since July last year.
Other notable falls where Northcliffe's Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development weather station (26.4mm), Manjimup 15.8mm and Shannon picking up 14.8mm.
Following these falls, cloud is likely to remain over southern coastal areas, while the west and inland areas remain clear today. High pressure will then build, clearing skies and limiting showers over the next few days. Another front will move over the region around Monday bringing a few scattered showers with it.
