Finals footy fever

James Casey, Saturday September 13, 2014 - 16:14 AEST

With finals footy in the air lets have a good look at what the conditions will be like for your team this weekend.

The Roosters and the Panthers will battle it out in Sydney this afternoon. After some drizzle around town this morning, the rain has cleared up, the sun has started to poke through the cloud and we are set for a mostly dry evening. There is likely to be a bit of left over moisture on the field although generally conditions will be great for an entertaining game.

Moving north to the Cowboys and Broncos Queensland derby later tonight, conditions will be warm and dry with no rain recorded in Townsville since mid August, which is not uncommon for this time of year.

Heading down to the rugby international tonight on the Gold Coast where the Wallabies play the Pumas, stormy conditions are a risk. While there hasn't been any rain recorded just yet, there is the risk that heavy, isolated showers with afternoon thunderstorms may cause the field to be a bit slippery for tonight.

We then head over to Perth where the Dockers take on the Power later on tonight. Light winds, mild temperatures and clear skies ahead of a weak front will see a great semi final clash on a dry pitch.

Finally, Sunday arvo footy down in Melbourne where the Bulldogs battle with the Storm. A trough to the west will bring some rain although it should hold off until after full time allowing for a fast flowing game.
