Mid-summer's night for SA

Gusty northerly winds brought one of the warmest April nights in recent memory for eastern South Australia.
However, the entire state was warmer than average last night, some areas as much as 10 degrees warmer than the norm, including Keith where the temperature stayed above 18 degrees all night.
It was the hottest April night in 11 years for Mount Gambier, while Adelaide and Port Lincoln hadn't had an April night warmer since 2011.
In the capital, the minimum temperature was reached just before 8pm last night at 19.9 degrees. As northerly winds began to increase, the temperature rose above 22 degrees for the remainder of the night. As a whole, it was the hottest night since mid-March for the city.
Last night would have felt particularly balmy, since the previous night was just about average across the state. In Whyalla, it was 11 degrees warmer last night compared with the previous night, while Kadina was ten degrees warmer.
Tonight will also start off warm for the east of the state, including Adelaide and Mount Gambier. However, a cool change is due to arrive tomorrow, bringing some respite.
