Mild week ahead for Perth

Jacobus Cronje, Saturday November 26, 2016 - 12:58 AEDT

Following a run of relatively cool days, heat has slowly been building in Perth since mid-week, which should peak at around 37 degrees today.

Increasing temperatures have likely been caused by offshore circulation from a low pressure trough along the west coast of Australia, also drawing warmer air down from the tropical latitudes.

However, as the trough begins to move onto the mainland from tomorrow, more onshore winds should lead to cool days right into next weekend, with temperatures unlikely to go far beyond the 30-degrees mark from Monday onward.

So far this month, Perth has received four days of 35 degrees or above, which is slightly more than the 2-3 days for Novembers in recent years.
