Perth has received more rain during the last four days than the last two and a half months combined.
Today has been cool, cloudy and wet in Perth, which iss an unfamiliar sight for the city this season.
Prior to 9am on Saturday, Perth had only received 45mm since the start of March. By contrast, the four days from 9am Saturday to 9am today have seen 47mm of rain hit the gauge.
This has brought Perth's seasonal total to a more respectable 92mm by this morning. While this is still only about half of the long term average for autumn, it's twice as good as it was this time last week.
Perth has now overtaken the autumns of 2009 and 2006 in terms of rainfall, during which the city only picked up 58mm and 61mm respectively.
Further showers are possible on Wednesday and Friday this week, giving Perth another chance improve its tally before the end of the season.
