Perth recycling its hot air

Rob Sharpe, Thursday February 11, 2016 - 14:18 AEDT

Australia's western capital equalled its record of four consecutive days over 40 degrees yesterday, and some of that heat is returning.

Many Perth residents will be celebrating today's 'cooler' weather, with a top of 36 degrees. Friday and the weekend will be even more comfortable, with tops near 33-34 degrees and with much lower relative humidity.

The heat hasn't gone far though, with temperatures reaching into the 40's today and tomorrow across the Central Wheatbelt. On the weekend the heat will drift a bit further north, before heat gets recycled down along the coast early next week by another heat trough.

Perth will see temperatures soar into the high 30's on Tuesday and Wednesday, possibly nudging 40 degrees for the eighth time this season. Thankfully this spell shouldnâ??t be quite as hot and humid as what the city just endured.
