Torrid Thursday for southern states

Parts of southern Australia will have their hottest day in eight months tomorrow.
While it's common to experience the hottest day since March during November, it's still a noteworthy occurrence. These late-spring bursts of heat can be intense enough to pose a risk to people's health and make bushfires difficult to control.
Parts of South Australia, Victoria, Tasmania and New South Wales will have the hottest day in eight months on Thursday, including Adelaide (34C), Melbourne (30C) and Hobart (29C). The temperature will be more than 10 degree above average in some areas.
Fire danger ratings will become elevated in South Australia on Thursday as the heat combines with fresh and dry northerly winds, followed by a gusty southwesterly change in the afternoon and evening.
This change will cause Friday to be about 10-15 degrees cooler across the south, as hot air gets pushed into New South Wales.
Another pulse of summer-like heat will sweep over the southern states on Sunday and Monday. Once again, it looks like some areas will have their hottest day in at least eight months at the beginning of next week.
