Final Flood Warning For The Thomson River
Issued at 10:48 AM EDT on Saturday 31 October 2020
Flood Watch Number: 3

River levels are slowly rising in the lower Thomson River at Sale however river levels are not expected to exceed the minor flood level.
In the 24 hours to 9 am Saturday, rainfall totals of 5 to 10 mm have been recorded across the Thomson catchment. Showers are forecast for the remainder of Saturday, with totals likely to be below 5mm.

Thomson River downstream of Wandocka:
No further flooding is expected in the Thomson River downstream of Wandocka.
The Thomson River at Sale Wharf is currently at 2.17 metres and rising slowly.
The Thomson River at Sale Wharf is expected to peak below the minor flood level (2.40 m) during Saturday.

Flood Safety Advice:
SES advises that all community members should:
Never walk, ride or drive through floodwater,
Never allow children to play in floodwater,
Stay away from waterways and stormwater drains during and after heavy rain,
Keep well clear of fallen power lines
Be aware that in fire affected areas, rainfall run-off into waterways may contain debris such as ash, soil, trees and rocks, and heavy rainfall increases the potential for landslides and debris across roads.}
