Final Flood Warning For The Fortescue River

FLOODING iS EASING IN THE FORTESCUE RIVER
Heavy rainfall associated with a tropical low has caused stream level rises, areas of flooding and adverse road conditions in the Fortescue River catchment. The low has now passed, and flooding impacts are easing.
In the 24 hours to 9:00 am Thursday, isolated rainfall totals ranged from around 30 to 60 mm.
No significant rainfall is forecast for the Fortescue River catchment.

Fortescue River:
Flooding impacts in the Fortescue River catchment will gradually ease in the coming days. However areas of flooding may continue to adversely affect road conditions. Check current road conditions before travelling.

Flood Safety Advice:
DFES advises people and communities to be aware that flooding is possible and be prepared to relocate equipment and livestock. Watch water levels. Travellers need to be aware that road conditions may be adversely affected and travel plans may need to be reconsidered. Do not drive into water of unknown depth and velocity.}
