Scattered showers on the southern and central ranges and adjacent slopes and plains. Scattered showers and possible thunderstorms about the Northwest Slopes and Upper Hunter. Isolated showers along the coastal fringe as far north as Seal Rocks, with a chance of thunderstorms along the coast between Newcastle and Seal Rocks. Possible small hail with any thunderstorms. Snow showers for the alpine region above 800 metres. Possible dusting of snow above 900m on the central ranges and above 1200m for the northern ranges. Dry and partly cloudy elsewhere. Patchy morning frost on the ranges and western slopes. Daytime temperatures below average. West to northwesterly winds in the east, fresh on the ranges, turning west to southwesterly through the day. South to southwesterly winds in the west.
