Chance of showers along the coast. Isolated showers developing in the south, becoming scattered on the southern ranges, slopes and plains in the evening. Late snow on the alpine ranges above 1400 metres. Dry elsewhere. North to northwesterly winds, becoming fresh and gusty northwesterly across the south and west during the day, strong on the alpine peaks, ahead of a cool and gusty southwesterly wind change sweeping across the far west later.
