Mild at first with gusty northerly winds ahead of a cold front, with damaging winds possible about the Otway coast, Macedon Ranges and some alpine peaks, easing later in the day. The front will bring a band of patchy rain and then showers to western districts early in the morning, extending to central districts during the day and then eastern districts later in the afternoon. Rain and showers more frequent over southern districts, and only isolated showers reaching the northwest. Possible small hail about the southwest in the afternoon and evening. Snow possible above 900 metres over the Grampians and central ranges in the evening, and above 1100 metres over the eastern ranges in the evening. Winds turning cooler west to northwesterly behind the front.
