Cancellation Of Heatwave Warning For South Australia

Valid for Wednesday 13 March 2024 to Saturday 16 March 2024
Cancellation for the following areas:
West Coast, Eastern Eyre Peninsula and Lower Eyre Peninsula
The South Australia SES advises everyone in the affected areas to take the following actions:
Severe heatwaves can be dangerous for many people, especially older people, babies, children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, people with medical conditions and people who are unwell.
Seek a place to keep cool, such as your home, a library, community centre or shopping centre.
Close your windows and draw blinds, curtains or awnings early in the day to keep the heat out of your home.
If available, use fans or air-conditioners to keep cool.
Severe heatwave conditions have eased. Low intensity heatwave conditions may persist for a few days but are generally easing across the state. Maximum temperatures in the mid thirties to low forties for inland parts, decreasing to the mid twenties to low thirties for coastal regions. Overnight minimum temperatures in the low to mid twenties for inland regions, decreasing to the mid teens for coastal regions.
No further warnings will be issued for this event, but the situation will continue to be monitored and further warnings issued if necessary.
