Final Flood Warning For The Cann, Genoa And Bemm Rivers

MINOR FLOODING NO LONGER EXPECTED ALONG THE CANN RIVER AT WEERAGUA
River level rises were observed Wednesday into Thursday along the Bemm and Cann Rivers. Minor flooding is no longer expected along the Cann River. River levels remain elevated, however are easing along the Bemm River.
Further showers are possible over the next few days, however significant totals are not expected.

River levels remain elevated, however are easing along the Bemm River.
Cann River:
Minor flooding is no longer expected along the Cann River.
The Cann River (West) at Weeragua peaked at 2.71 metres, below the minor flood level (3.00 m), on Wednesday evening and is currently at 2.35 metres and falling.
The Cann River (West) at Weeragua is expected to remain below the minor flood level.

Genoa River:
Flooding is not expected along the Genoa River.
The Genoa River at The Gorge is currently at 1.57 metres and falling, below the minor flood level (1.90 m).
The Genoa River at The Gorge is expected to remain below the minor flood level (1.90 m).

Flood Safety Advice:
SES advises that all community members should:
Never walk, ride or drive through floodwater,
Never allow children to play in floodwater,
Stay away from waterways and stormwater drains during and after heavy rain,
Keep well clear of fallen power lines
Be aware that in fire affected areas, rainfall run-off into waterways may contain debris such as ash, soil, trees and rocks, and heavy rainfall increases the potential for landslides and debris across roads.}
