Easterly trade flow is bringing isolated patches of low to mid level cloud into the Top End and the Cape York Peninsula, with embedded showers and the odd thunderstorm. A band of patchy low to mid level cloud lies to the north and east of a trough extending through central Northern Territory into southern Queensland. An approaching cold front southwest of Western Australia is bringing some low to mid level cloud to the southwest coast, while further inland some remnant mid level cloud can be seen, associated with an upper level disturbance. A slow moving high pressure system in the Bight pushes low level cloud onto the coast of southeast Australia. The rest of the country remains mostly cloud free.
