Severe Tropical Cyclone "Narelle" is in the western Gulf of Carpentaria, near the Northern Territory coast, and is producing a large cloud mass over the region. A smaller slow moving trough off the northern Queensland coast is drawing additional low to mid level cloud into the area. Patchy low cloud extends along the eastern seaboard due to onshore flow driven by a high pressure ridge extending south of the mainland. A mid level disturbance is generating some mid level cloud over much of New South Wales. A blanket of low to mid level cloud lies near southwestern Western Australia is associated with a trough. The rest of the country is mostly cloud free.
