A complex series of lows and front systems is driving extensive showers and thunderstorm activity over the south east, particularly over western Tasmania, whilst a mid-to-upper level cloudband streams over Tasmania and southern Victoria ahead of the cold front. A band of mid level cloud is stretches across from the interior of Western Australia, across South Australia associated with an upper level trough in the region. A high pressure system in the Indian ocean is driving low level cloud over southwestern Western Australia. The rest of the country is mostly cloud free.
