A northwest cloudband, associated with an upper trough, is streaming from northern Western Australia, over much of South Australia, and into the Great Australian Bight. Thunderstorms embedded in the cloudband are present near the border of Western Australia and South Australia. A cold front over southwestern Western Australia is bringing convective cloud to the region. The high pressure system in the Tasman Sea extends a ridge over northern and eastern parts of the country, driving some patchy cloud along the eastern seaboard. The rest of the country is mostly cloud free.
